Chickamauga Creek Gorge

North Chickamauga Creek Gorge State Park is a deep gorge cut into the sandstone of Walden’s Ridge. The park spans approximately 10 miles and features steep slopes, sandstone bluffs, and the waters of the Tennessee River. Encompassing nearly 6,000 acres, the park is home to several state and federally-listed plants, pockets of old-growth forests, and a diverse wildlife population.

The park has become a hub for activities like whitewater kayaking and trout fishing. There are approximately 20 miles of hiking trails, which form a portion of the 300-mile Cumberland Trail. In addition to the trails, there are also popular swimming holes such as the famous Blue Hole.

North Chickamauga Creek Gorge State Park is located 15 miles north of Chattanooga.
