Situated in LaFayette, GA near the Tennessee border, Rocktown stands as one of the most popular bouldering regions in the southeast, characterized by its exceptional sandstone that offers solid slopers, crimps, huecos, rails, and challenging top-outs.
A pressing issue at Rocktown is the growing concern of human and pet waste. Restrooms are not available on-site, so it is essential to take responsibility for cleaning up after yourself and your pets. Currently, camping is not allowed in the parking area; however, convenient camping options are located nearby, just a brief three-minute distance from the trailhead. Upon exiting the trailhead road, take a left turn and make a sharp right shortly after to locate the designated camping area. It is worth noting that a land use permit is technically required for climbing, using, or camping on Georgia state lands, unless a fishing or hunting license is obtained.
